Photos of Scotland
Scotland is a land blessed with rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, lofty mountains, wild moors which are achingly desolate in their beauty, and mysterious lochs. Its ancient and enigmatic landmarks dating from the Neolithic to the more recent iconic castles of various clans, offer jaw-dropping subjects for the landscape photographer.
From the lowland lakes of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, to the highland mountains round Glencoe and Assynt for which Scotland is famous, this is a landscape photographer’s paradise.
Scotland is blessed by a vast number of offshore islands -790 in total – of which 93 are inhabited. From the Caribbeanesque white sandy beaches of Harris and Lewis, the Tolkiensque volcanic landscapes of the Isle of Skye, to the wild and windswept Orkney Islands, Scotland’s islands have it all.
